Billing and Account Information:

Deposits:

All new accounts require a $100.00 deposit and payment must be made in full before service will be turned on.

Moving to a different location within the city:

To transfer service from one address to another, call us in advance (940) 433-5166 so that service will not be interrupted. We will need the date you expect to move and the address where you are moving to update our records.

Moving out of the city:

If you are moving out of the City of Boyd, please call us at City Hall (940) 433-5166, and tell us when you want to discontinue service at your old address. Your deposit will be applied to your final bill. If there is still a balance or if you anticipate a refund, be sure to leave us your forwarding address, so that we may send the remainder of your deposit or a final bill.

SEWER

Monthly Bills:

Water bills are sent out on the last day of each month. Payment is due on or before the20th of each month. If the 20th of the month falls on the weekend, payment is still due on the 20th. If payment is not in the office before the next working day, a 10% late charge will be added. There is a night drop located at City Hall for your convenience.

Late Notices:

Late notices are sent out on the 21st of each month. Late payment is due before the 25th of each month. Services will be disconnected if payment is not received. A $25.00 reconnect charge is added to your account and is due before services will be restored.

How To Pay:

  1. In Person -You can pay your water bill in person at City Hall. The office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  2. Night Deposit Slot - A night deposit slot is located in the back wall of city hall.
  3. By Mail - You can mail your payment in to the City Hall. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 216, Boyd, TX 76023. Please return the small portion of your bill (the one with your name on it) in with your payment. Do not mail cash. Use a check or money order when paying by mail.
  4. Automatic Draft - Automatic draft is a convenient way to pay your bill and avoid late fees. It allows for an automatic debit from your checking account around the 5th day of each month. We will send a courtesy notice to you that will show the amount drafted for that month. There is no charge for this service. (Click Here for Automatic Draft Form)

Reasons for Service Termination:

Water service may be cut off for any of the following reasons:

  • Failure to pay your bill
  • Failure to arrange payment for a returned check
  • Unauthorized connection to the water supply system
  • Tampering with meters or other City of Boyd' equipment
  • Violation of any water or sewer related City of Boyd ordinances
  • Having a severe leak that creates hazardous conditions
